Dear Parents and Carers,
I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a Happy New Year and welcome back to a new term here at Beaufort School.
The children will be expected to return tomorrow the 5th January. I have informed transport of this.
As you will be aware, the situation with COVID-19 has not gone away and the Omicron variant has exacerbated the situation. I have updated our COVID Risk Assessment and our Outbreak Management Plan. This will be added to our website asap.
As you will have seen in the media, the Omicron variant has negatively impacted the levels of staffing across a range of industries. We expect that there will be a similar impact on the education sector.
At the time of writing, I have two Teaching Assistants off ill with COVID-19 and a teacher who is awaiting PCR results before she can return to work.
Moving forwards, there may have to be movement of staff between classes to mitigate against staff absences. There may be extreme cases, where we have to close classes, due to staff absences. This will be a last resort.
We will be considering a range of measures to ensure that your child’s needs are met. Our priority will be how we are able to keep classes open.
If your child’s class is unfortunately closed, there will be remote learning available for your child through ‘Class Dojo.’ Can I ask all of you to monitor Class Dojo daily for any updates or closures. If you have any questions, then please do not hesitate to get in touch
Many thanks for your co-operation and support.
Yours sincerely,
Mr. M Wright
Head of School
